This summer, Forest Lawn Library is offering School's Out for the Summer, a free daily drop-in program for children aged 6-12. The Library has rallied partners and external presenters, including the Calgary Police Service, Ladies Learning Code, Money Mentors and Green Calgary to offer a variety of programs over the summer break.
Since nutrition has a direct impact on a child's ability to learn and retain information, the drop-in program also includes lunches for children who may be hungry. Glen an Nancy are two donors who stepped forward to support this program, and their $2,500 gift has helped ensure that the children have the tools they need to succeed. The Library also partnered with I Can for Kids to distribute weekend food packs to children.
