Rachael Meckling

Rachael Meckling, a Jill of All Trades, began her career as a fine artist and fashion illustrator by drawing on fluffy white napkins alongside her mother, Penelope at her favourite coffee shop when she was very young. Penelope was a folk artist; a master quilter who allowed Rachael to express her inner whimsy and develop the beginnings of her love of the female form, inspiring Rachael as she mapped out original quilt patterns. Every day, all before the first school bell rang.

Setting her sights beyond the comfy feel of blue ink on temporary white napkins, Rachael graduated from Ryerson with her Bachelor of Design from Ryerson University's Fashion Communication program 2011. Rachael has quickly become one of Western Canada’s most sought-after multidisciplinary artists, largely thanks to her unique ability to bring meaningful portraits to life during enchanting LIVE sittings.

She is currently tucked away in the Alberta Rockies; a safe, beautiful place to focus solely on her latest projects. She continues to create with inspiration from the divine beauty of nature, the energy of fashion and the power of the iconic female form. Rachael’s work can be seen in fashion publications like Fashion, and Flare, and is an artistic contributor to luxury events, lately hired by Saks Fifth Avenue, Aritzia, RBC and local firms such as Rockwood Luxury Homes and McKinley Burkart. Rachael continues to expand her practice with private commissions, branding feminine clientele and designing surface patterns, similar to the ones her mother was originally inspired by.
