About the Authors & Illustrators
Julia Turnbull graduated from McMaster University and Osgoode Hall Law School. She practised family law for thirty years, during which time she co-authored a legal treatise on Adoption Law in Canada, but she always yearned to write a novel and a children's book and now she has done both.
She is the mother of three adult children. Julia and her husband, Jim Letourneau, reside in Calgary and enjoy a peripatetic lifestyle pursuing her goal of visiting 100 countries.
Thea Lynn Paul retired from a twenty year legal career where the written word was the focus, and has found a new passion. In 2005 she joined the Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild and immersed herself in calligraphy. While her predominant interest is lettering, she also enjoys exploring principles of design and techniques in watercolour, acrylic painting, collage and book making. She loves colour and texture, using both to create pieces that incorporate the interplay of text with art. Thea lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. You can find some of her calligraphic cards at our library store and more of her artwork at www.thealynnpaul.com.
